Science Policy Society invites you to this month's Science on Tap: the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) on Thursday, February 27th at Axemann Brewery. We will be joined by PhD Candidate Pinchen Fan and Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Dr. Jason Wright.

Please join the Indigenous Peoples' Student Association on Wednesday, March 5th, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the HUB-Robeson Center-Heritage Hall for the event "Unspoken Truths: The Crisis of Missing & Murdered Indigenous People". The event will feature keynote speaker Lynette Grey Bull, Founder and Executive Director of Not Our Native Daughters. Lynette serves on the Wyoming Governor's Task Force for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons as well as the Wyoming Human Trafficking Task Force.
Penn State researchers aim to enhance the University's research and development capabilities in next-generation semiconductor technology thanks to $4.3 million in infrastructure funding and in-kind support through the University’s membership in MMEC, a consortium of regional partners focused on microelectronics research and development.
Penn State has moved up two spots to No. 26 in the 2023 U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Higher Education Research and Development (HERD) Survey, the most recently released rankings. The University also earned top 10 rankings in key research fields, including engineering, mathematics, statistics, sociology, demography and psychology.
Three faculty from Penn State’s College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (EMS) have been elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). Members of the class of 2025 include Susan Brantley, Atherton Professor and Evan Pugh University Professor Emerita of Geosciences; Long-Qing Chen, Donald W. Hamer Professor of Materials Science and Engineering; and Russell Johns, George E. Trimble Chair of Energy and Mineral Sciences and professor of petroleum and natural gas engineering.
Scientists at Penn State have harnessed a unique property called incipient ferroelectricity to create a new type of computer memory that could revolutionize how electronic devices work, such as using much less energy and operating in extreme environments like outer space.
