The dates for the Safer People Safer Places workshops are now open for the spring semester. The Safer People Safer Places network strives to create a safer and more inclusive campus for sexual and gender diversity. 

 

The Foundations Workshop dates will be Friday, January 31st, 10am-12pm, Tuesday, February 25th, 11am-1pm, and Wednesday March 5th, 9-11am. The first two will be held via Zoom and the one in March will take place in the HUB.

Enter your favorite treat in the MatSE Bake-off

Hosted by the Beese Group

Undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, faculty, and staff, enter the competition by filling out the form below or bring your item in the day of event.

On Friday, February 28, 2025 bring your entry to the 4th floor of the Steidle Building by 2:45 p.m.

The MatSE community will be sampling and judging entries starting at 3 p.m. 

Winners will be announced at the end of the event in the following categories: 

  • Sweet
  • Savory
  • Alternative ingredients (e.g., vegan, gluten-free)

Everyone is welcome to sample treats and be a judge to name the best of the best MatSE baked goods!

Penn State University Libraries is hosting the Annual Graduate Student & Postdoc Writing Retreat from Monday, March 10th – Wednesday, March 12th in the Pattee Learning Commons in the Pattee Library. All graduate students are welcome to attend one day, two days, or all three days. Each day, the retreat is from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. with hot beverages, snacks, and lunch provided. Students may work on their theses, dissertations, or other writing projects.
