Dean Edward Steidle Memorial Scholar Award
Each year the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences selects an advanced student with outstanding scholarship as the Dean Steidle Memorial Scholar. To be eligible, a student must be a graduating senior, a truly outstanding scholar in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, and plan to attend graduate school.
While the selection process typically emphasizes exceptional performance in course work, other factors could be used to distinguish a candidate (such as research accomplishments, unusual creativity of a scholarly nature, powerful and unique intellectual breadth or special scholarly accomplishments under adverse circumstances) also can be important selection criteria.
