The Department of Materials Science and Engineering offers poster printing and framing to members of the department only. Faculty, staff and students are required to design their own posters—the department is only responsible for printing and/or framing.
Poster Printing Guidelines
Help us get your poster to you in a timely manner and follow the guidelines below:
Submit your poster(s) to Darlene Peletski, firstname.lastname@example.org, via email along with the Poster Printing Form, according to the time schedule listed below. (Poster Printing Forms are not necessary for department poster contests since the posters remain the property of the department after the contest.)
Unless you are participating in a poster contest, you will receive an email when your poster is printed. Please stop by 225-A Steidle ASAP to review your poster after receiving an email notification. You will receive a final email notice when the poster is ready to be picked up.
In order to maintain a unified look for the department, please use the template or include the PSU logo according to the Penn State Identity Standards guidelines.
The preferred file format is PDF. Please check with Darlene if your poster is in a different file format.
Posters must be 36"x48" in either landscape or portrait page orientation. Posters larger than 36"x48" will not be printed. (In PDF format click Ctrl-D to check size.)
For department poster competitions where many posters are being printed and mounted, please make sure all posters are submitted at least 10 business days prior to the event date. Reminder, we will probably not be able to allow each one of you the time to review your poster after it has been printed, otherwise, the process will be slowed dramatically. Posters received for printing are expected to be complete.
For individual posters that only need to be printed, submit your poster at least 3 business days prior to the date needed. For example: if you need a poster by Friday at 4 pm, submit it by Tuesday at 4 p.m. This allows adequate time for printing and reviewing of your poster.
For individual posters that need to be printed AND framed, submit your poster at least 5 business days prior to the date needed. This allows for printing, reviewing, reprinting if needed and framing services. For example: if you need a poster by Friday at 4p.m., submit it by the previous Friday at 4pm.
If your poster is too large to email, please copy it to a memory stick and give to Darlene Peletski in 225-A Steidle Building.
