Please join the Science Policy Society for this month’s Science on Tap featuring Dr. Erica Smithwick, Director of the Earth and Environmental Systems Institute and the newly announced Climate Consortium; Dr. Mark Ortiz, a postdoctoral scholar in Geography; and Vikrant Sapkota, a graduate student in Meteorology. This month’s topic will be “Local and International Action: Climate Change and COP28.” Our speakers will discuss their recent involvement in the 28th annual United Nations climate meeting, COP28, and how they translate their research into recommendations to shape international policies related to climate change. This event will be Thursday, January 25th on the first floor of Axemann Brewery in Bellefonte. Talks will start at 7 PM, but attendees may arrive as early as 6 PM to grab a drink, food, and seat. Hope to see you there!
