The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is excited to announce a new program to help students maximize their potential for winning the NSF-GRFP, and to fund their unique ideas well before the NSF announcement!
Prof. Joshua Robinson (MatSE, Acting EMS ADGER) will lead three 90-minute sessions to guide students through the process of writing an effective and impactful proposal. We’ll start with developing your ideas in quad chart format, followed by reviewing important writing habits critical to effectively conveying your message in the most concise manner. Each session will build on the previous to ensure students understand the most effective methods for writing a winning proposal.
Finally, students interested in competing for $5000 to fund their NSF-GRFP ideas in advance of the NSF decision will have the opportunity to present a poster at the annual EMS Grad Student Poster Competition. Up to 5 winners will be chosen!
What to expect: Three interactive sessions focused on developing the skills needed to submit a competitive research and personal statement to the NSF-GRFP, and the opportunity to win $5000 to fund your research idea. Please plan to attend all three sessions as they build upon each other.
