Every summer we at MRI run an elevator pitch competition that is designed to give you some experience with a very industry-friendly technique called an elevator pitch. Please consider participating in the workshops (April 23rd and 30th ) and in the competition (May 7th). **Note that the workshops are open to ANYONE, but we are asking you to register for training sessions using the same link as the competition registration below.
More Information:
Sponsored by PPG Industries, the 10th Annual Elevator Pitch Competition is an opportunity to pitch your research in TWO minutes or less, using no more than four supporting slides. Graduate students will briefly convey their research to a curious and technically diverse audience in hopes of taking home CASH PRIZES and developing new COLLABORATIONS. In addition to the competition there will be two free workshops offered to help improve your pitch skills (more information is available on the link below). Industry visitors will judge the competition. Note that this is a critical skill to learn whether your plans involve an academic or an industrial path.
Registration is limited to 50 graduate students plus alternates. The competition has filled quickly in past years so if interested, register ASAP.
Registration is now open! https://www.mri.psu.edu/mri/events/2024-10th-annual-ppg-elevator-pitch-competition
