Nutifafa Y. Doumon
Nutifafa Yao Doumon is an interdisciplinary scientist with a background in physics, nanoscience, and leadership. Doumon’s main research interest focuses on materials for next-generation photovoltaic and optoelectronic technologies.
He joined Penn State’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering in 2023 as an assistant professor. Before joining Penn State, Dr. Doumon was a researcher at INRS-EMT (Canada), exploring the field of solar technologies. He also worked at the Chemistry and Nanoscience Center at the National Renewable energy Laboratory (NREL), Golden, Colorado, as a researcher working as part of the SETO’s Perovskite PV Accelerator for Commercializing Technologies (PACT) and the SETO’s SLAC Perovskite teams. He has more than a decade of experience and expertise in physics, nanoscience, materials science, energy, research, teaching, and leadership. He is an advocator for better Education, women in STEM, global climate change, and sustainable energy transition and resources.
This faculty member is associated with the Penn State Intercollege Graduate Degree Program (IGDP) in Materials Science and Engineering (MatSE) where a multitude of perspectives and cross-disciplinary collaboration within research is highly valued. Graduate students in the IGDP in MatSE may work with faculty members from across Penn State.
His research interest spans organic/polymer, halide perovskite, and quantum dot semiconductors for indoor/outdoor photovoltaic and optoelectronic device fabrication/characterization, stability, and reliability testing.
