Hongyeun Kim
About
Hongyeun Kim, Ph.D., is an assistant research professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Penn State. He holds a bachelor degree in ceramic engineering from Yonsei University, and earned master's degrees in materials science and engineering from both Yonsei University and University of Florida. Kim completed his doctorate degree in materials science and engineering at Penn State, where his research focused on thermodynamic and hardness modeling of metallic alloys.
Research Projects
Kim's research focuses on the thermodynamic and mechanical behavior of glass and glass-ceramic materials, with a particular emphasis on understanding structure–property relationships through advanced modeling and computational techniques.
