What would be your dream job and how did EMS put you closer to this goal?
As of right now, I want to be a materials engineer for an aerospace company. The EMS community, specifically the MatSE department, has provided me a lot of guidance in choosing classes the right classes. They also frequently send emails about opportunities to get involved in industry.
What made you choose your major?
Materials science and engineering is applicable to so many different industries. The possibilities and options that I have as a materials science major is very exciting to me. I feel like I can make a real difference in the world using my major to improve the lives of many.
What is the best class you’ve taken at Penn State and why?
My favorite class so far has been Math 140G. Professor James Kelly is amazing even though his 80s pop culture references sometimes go way over my head. 10/10, highly recommend.
Why did you decide to attend Penn State?
Penn State’s programs and facilities are highly funded, and the extensive community of students and alumni is tough to beat. The environment in State College is vibrant and even with the COVID-19 pandemic, there are still ways to get involved.
What is one piece of advice you would give to prospective students?
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes are a great way to learn and improve.
