Students benefit from MatSE’s strong relationships with industry, academic partners, and national laboratories. MatSE students have access to a variety of resources for short-term career development opportunities and for full-time employment after graduation.

“As an intern at JTEC Energy, Inc., I executed experiments with senior scientists and help build experimental prototypes of the revolutionary JTEC Device.”

“I was a research intern at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. My project was to examine the viability of photovoltaic glass samples to be upcycled. I examined each glass sample for its chemical structure and what it contained.”

“As a battery research and development intern at the Battery Innovation Center, I was responsible for assisting with the development of manufacturing processes and capabilities encompassing the entire development process.”

“I worked as a quality control intern at North American Hoganas High Alloys. I was pressing powdered metals, sintering them on a new high temperature furnace, and gathering the data to report if the tests proved to be successful or a failure.”
