John Creek is a global Category R&D Director, Cough/Cold for Bayer Consumer Health; currently responsible for the Cough Cold category including brands like Afrin, Tabcin, Aspirin, Alka-Seltzer Plus, and Coricidin.
John earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at Penn State in 2007, joining Reckitt (formerly RB) in the same year. After several years working within product development, John took a series of leadership roles in the global cross-category Outside Innovation and Disruptive Innovation teams from 2012 through 2020. In 2020 John took on his current leadership role with Bayer to drive global end-to-end innovation and product development in the Cough and Cold category.
By focusing on meaningful medical and scientific insights tied to real consumer needs the product and brand launches resulting from Johns’ work have been underpinned by robust science and have led to numerous publications, patents, and internal IP as well as substantial business growth.
