Dr. Shang is working with Dr. Zi-Kui Liu at the Phases Research Lab in the field of computational materials science. He is using computational thermodynamics, first-principles, and first-principles phonon calculations to study thermodynamic, diffusion, and mechanical properties of ordered & disordered alloys, compounds, and functional materials.

Shunli's research interests include computational thermodynamics of alloy and oxide systems, temperature and composition-dependent phase stability, first-principles and first-principles phonon calculations of ideal and defect-included materials, and first-principles molecule dynamics investigations of structural and thermodynamic properties.
