MatSE Postdoc New Hire Process NOTE* * Postdocs are hired for a minimum of one year with benefits. *If the PI/hiring faculty member has a specific job description that they would like posted, please send to financial@matse.psu.edu when submitting the new hire form. *Minimum postdoc salary for 2023-2024 is $56,484. 1. Hiring faculty/PI completes and submits the MatSE Postdoc New Hire Form online (below). 2. The MatSE financial coordinator will request a new job posting. 3. Please note: a job is required to be posted for one week before we can submit the request to hire. 4. Prospect will then apply, and the MatSE financial coordinator will hire as requested. 5. If/when the prospect accepts the offer, University Shared Services will contact the new hire with an offer letter along with a welcome email, outlining the required steps for the onboarding process. Note: If a visa is required it is a minimum of 90 days from when the visa paperwork is started, which is not until after the offer is accepted, please pick a reasonable start date. 6. The new hire will complete onboarding with University Shared Services (background check, new hire documents, PSU ID, etc.) 7.
