In the spirit of the Millennium Café, the 8th Annual Elevator Pitch Competition sponsored by PPG is an opportunity to pitch the importance of your research in 2 minutes or less using no more than four 8.5” x 11” printed slides.
This year we will return to an in-person event and that also means coffee and donuts for training sessions and the event!!!!! Briefly convey your research to a curious and technically diverse panel of judges in hopes of taking home PRIZE MONEY with a top prize of $750 and $500/$250 for 2nd and 3rd plus two $50 consolation prize gift cards for 4th and 5th.
In addition to the competition on May 5th there will be two free training courses offered to help improve your pitch skills (more information is available on the link below). Industry visitors will judge the competition. Note that this is a critical skill to learn whether your plans involve an academic or an industrial path.
Registration is limited to 45 graduate students plus alternates. The competition has filled quickly in past years so if interested, register ASAP.
