The MTL is a user facility contains specialized equipment for evaluating mechanical and thermal properties of materials at length scales ranging from nanometers to meters in controlled testing environments (temperatures up to 1600C and atmospheres ranging from reducing to oxidizing). The MTL is available to researchers at the Pennsylvania State University as well as external users.
