The 40th Taylor Lecture was given on April 23, 2013, by P.M. Ajayan, the Benjamin M. & Mary Greenwood Anderson Professor of Engineering at Rice University. Ajayan is a pioneer in nanotechnology and carbon nanotubes. In the tradition of the Taylor Lecture, three outstanding Penn State faculty were selected to give talks on related topics. Leading off the morning was professor of physics Nitin Samarth.
