POSITION: Development Engineer / Project Coordinator

▪ Education—Bachelor (required) or Master (preferred) Degree in an engineering (or science) discipline
▪ Experience—Relevant experience (theoretical and/or practical) in project/product management, new product/concept development, and/or manufacturing process development/support.
▪ Work Status—Capability of meeting US Government Security requirements (required)
POTENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: ▪ Development—Develops and modifies manufacturing processes aiming at an efficient configuration of production processes. ▪ Development—Prepares studies and checks the technical and economic feasibility of new production processes and technologies. ▪ Development—Concepts and realizes tests and analyzes these. ▪ Development—Plans the required manufacturing equipment for new processes, ensures their implementation with assistance of specialized departments and external companies. ▪ Planning—Plans the implementation of agreed development measures under consideration of general requirements and agrees planning with supervisor. ▪ Planning—Prepares plans for test procedures, for implementation of new or modified production processes. ▪ Planning—Tests new production processes or rather manufacturing equipment and implements these in the production. ▪ Projects—Leads, coordinates and participates as project manager. ▪ Projects—Controls the project budget. ▪ Projects—Leads functionally assigned employees in the context of projects. ▪ Projects—Monitors and expedites plant performance of specific orders or programs as assigned. ▪ Projects—Oversees, monitors, and reports on plant project portfolio. ▪ Projects—Requires and enforces that all project participants abide by the SCHOTT Project Management Guideline. ▪ Projects—Updates Project Management Guideline and associated templates and tools as necessary. ▪ Projects—Supports project managers regarding procedural questions and initiates required trainings. ▪ Projects—Receives project ideas drawn up by internal and external customers, checks them according to the agreed rules and prepares them for review by the management committee. ▪ Projects—Generates and maintains a roster of project staff and available capacity for projects and identifies resource conflicts. ▪ Projects—Identifies goal conflicts of projects and informs the management committee accordingly. ▪ Projects—Gives recommendations to the management committee regarding appointments to the positions of project manager, steering committee and project team members based on fit and availability. ▪ Projects—Organizes and chairs meetings of the management committee and maintains and publishes meeting minutes. ▪ Projects—Draws up a comprehensive report for all projects for the management committee and submits it monthly to the entire management team. ▪ Projects—Ensures that an overview of current projects is drawn up and presents it in each meeting of the management committee ▪ Documentation—Documents the results of tests and production processes. Prepares process regulations and manuals as well as maintenance schedules.
