Yu-Chuan Lin, received the Fall 2016 MRS Graduate Student Silver Award

Yu-Chuan Lin, received the MRS Graduate Student Silver Award at the 2016 MRS Fall meeting. His research was on integrating 2D semiconductors, such as graphene and MoS2/WSe2, into atomically thin heterostructures that exhibit unprecedented phenomena. He adapted a variety of surface characterization techniques to probe these novel 2D materials in order to understand how defects in these materials impact their opto-electronic properties.
