Weitzner Receives 2012 Astronaut Foundation Scholarship Award

Please join the department in congratulating Stephen Weitzner on receiving the 2012 Astronaut Foundation Scholarship Award. The Astronaut Scholarship is the largest monetary award given in the United States to undergraduate STEM students based solely on merit.  The chosen scholars exhibit motivation, imagination and exceptional performance in these fields.  Kevin Chilton, United States Air Force fou-star general (retired) presented this award to Stephen on November 13, 2012.  General Chilton spent 11 years of his military career as a NASA astronaut and achieved the highest rank for any military astronaut.
