Selected Topics in

Computational Materials Processing

Welcome

During materials processing operations, complex physical processes such as heat and mass transfer, flow of molten metal and solid state transformations affect the geometry, composition, structure and properties of processed materials. Recent advances in computational hardware, software and numerical models have made these complexities in materials processing and processed materials more tractable. This short course seeks to discuss a selection of contemporary topics to illustrate the recent expansion of the quantitative knowledge base in materials processing and processed materials.
