Graduated from Penn State in Ceramic Science and Engineering (BS – ’71, MS – ’73). The majority of my career has been in the refractories industry. In 1972 I started as a research engineer with North American Refractories Co. I progressed through several levels of increased responsibility to Director of Research in 1989 and Vice President of Technology and Quality Assurance in 1994. My responsibilities included basic research, product development, international technology acquisition, raw material sourcing, research management, innovation strategy and eventually management of research and marketing divisions. In 1998, following an international merger, I was Vice President of Innovation and Technology for RHI-America managing product development, quality assurance and several business units.
In 2002 I joined Penn State’s Industrial Research Office. In 2004 I became President of CED Process Minerals Inc. Our primary business is the manufacture and international sales of cristobalite for several industrial applications.
I am a Fellow of the American Ceramic Society and Centennial Fellow of EMS. |
