  Dr. Ronald L. Stewart, 1971 and 1981
   
 

Dr. Ronald L. Stewart is Development Associate, Corning Specialty Materials Development Department of the Science & Technology Division.  Dr. Stewart received a B.S. in  1971, and a Ph.D. in 1981, in Ceramic Science, from Penn State University.
   
Dr. Stewart has conducted research on glasses for optical fibers, glass-ceramic matrix composites, as well as ceramic based materials, and he has developed products and led projects on several glass and glass-ceramic based products for Corning. 

Currently Dr. Stewart is a technical leader on multiple product development programs using glass and glass-ceramic materials. 

He has prior glass process experience in engineering positions at PPG's Glass Division (1974-75) and at Brockway Glass (1971-74). 

Dr. Stewart is a member of the American Ceramic Society, Keramos, and Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society.  He has 24 patents related to glass, glass-ceramic and ceramic material products, and 6 technical publications.
